Though you'll find that kitchener stitch is not really daunting, particularly on plain stocking stitch/stockinette. I've got it memorised now (it only took me a year...) - your sewing needle with yarn tail goes "Knit front - off, purl front; purl back - off, knit back", repeat till the last two stitches, which go 'knit front - off, purl back - off'.
