The lace, she is done.
Thank you so much for all of your kind comments on my last post about the lace I have knit for my best friend.
I took it off the wires this morning and took some photos of it and the gloves that I knit Saturday. There's a hat too, but it's not quite done yet. Few more decreasing rounds.
I wanted to share them with you. :)
First, the before and after blocking pictures, for oooohing and ahhhhing over the magic of lace blocking. ;)


(As you can see, where other knitters have cats to help them with blocking, I have toddlers.)
And then the glamour shots:


And then the detail shots:

Here you can see the join. It looks MUCH more subtle in person, I lit it here so it was really obvious. It doesn't blend quite as cleanly in the YO's as I had hoped, but it's better than a three needle bind off would have been, I think.

While I was pinning it out I started seeing all the little glitches I had made here and there that didn't show up while I was knitting. Fortunately none of them are ghastly, and I hope add a bit of handmade-with-love charm to it. :D
