Baby Jacket

I made this little jacket for a good friend's first baby (a girl). He said he didn't want traditional girly colours. So he didn't get them. It was a reasonably quick and easy knit. The yarn I used was hand-dyed merino tencel sock yarn from Mind's Eye Yarns.

The look on his face when he saw it made it totally worthwhile. He was completely blown away by it.

That is beautiful! Love the yarn.

Yay, rabbits! For babies and toddlers, I tend to make miniature versions of cardigans an adult could wear, too, because there's enough so-called cute in the world already.

Love the color selection. I was talking to a friend and could not convince her that baby girls could pull off greys. I'll direct her to this post ASAP.

I like knitting non-traditional baby colours. I've found that a lot of people I've knitted things for have been glad to get away from the endless pile of pink or blue.

I've also noticed that, if given a choice, people will go for a wide range of colors for baby items, not just pink, blue or the more traditional pastels. As you say, though, they usually get the pink versus blue picks.
