Two shawl FOs

You know that nagging feeling when you've finished something neat but haven't gotten around to taking a picture of it?

I fixed that problem today! :D

Alpaca Seas, finished in September
This was my most complex and fiddly lace project to date, including work in-pattern on the wrong side. Of course, by the time I finished it (with only a few yards to spare after binding off!), it seemed like a perfectly straightforward and simple pattern, hahaha. It's so pretty!

3/4 Shaelyn, finished in February
This was a fun and simple project, easy to memorize and work on without referring to the pattern--a perfect antidote to High Seas. I modified the pattern to have 3 panels rather than 2, making it a triangle-shawl-and-a-half that drapes nicely in the front. It's less stylish but very comfy, good both for keeping warm in a drafty New England apartment and layering under a coat in a blizzard :)

Both shawls look lovely - lots of work too! I love the color combinations in the second one. Well done!

Thanks! I'm still kinda on the fence about the colors in the second one--I like them, but think that maybe they look better in taller stripes, and the rows were super long on this shawl.

Oh how pretty they both are!

I love the colors in both of them. Shaelyn is one of those shawls i keep thinking about making. I love the High Seas shawl--it really does look like the ocean.

I really recommend the Shaelyn pattern--not only is it an easy but pretty knit, the pattern is written really clearly and comes with a bunch of helpful hints for memorizing and working without the pattern (stuff that you'd work out after a few repeats on your own--so nice to have the shortcut of having that provided for you!)

Ooh, lovely! That lace one does look quite the challenge, with the variations in the waves, but what a beautiful result. And I really like the colours in the Shaelyn shawl.
