knitting personality test

The Knitting Brain has a Knitting Personality Test. Apparently, I'm a Contented Knitter. How about you?

IMO, this test is just for fun, not accuracy. Although, of the 3 choices, the description for 'Contented' does sound most like me, my true answer to several of the questions was 'none of these.'

I'm also a contented knitter!

The Logical Knitter, which is dead-on. And I really want to order the book that the description mentions as one I'd probably like.

Me too! It looks like they're refering to http://www.amazon.com/Knitters-Handbook-Comprehensive-Principles-Handknitting/dp/0762102489 which I don't have yet. Hmmmm!

I came up as a Logical Knitter, and yes, I do have this desire to understand the why but more because I sometimes just lose myself in how amazing certain things are (for example, turning a heel--still makes me smile in delight each time it comes out). However I am so far from being a perfectionist in knitting it's laughable.

Same here. I'm a "logical" knitter, but perfectionism has never been one of my traits.

Artistic Knitter! And I've looked at the recommended book (Knit, Swirl). Sadly I think that jackets constructed out of a circle look bad on almost everyone.

Contented knitter, and I agree with it - I knit for relaxation mainly with some noise in the background, and I have to really take time out to eyeball a new pattern. I've added Love Knitting to my Amazon wishlist, it looks really interesting!

Contented knitter here, too. I guess we should get tee shirts. Better yet, knit a matching scarf/hat combo.

I ended up as Logical knitter, but I'm not sure. I think I experiment too much for that... Definitely looking at all those books, though. Yay for libraries!

I am a Logical Knitter. I guess I'm okay with that.

Artistic knitter, and while I don't think that's exactly right (I'm not fashionable!), they didn't have a category for "flying by the seat of her pants" that would more accurately describe me. Maybe laid-back knitter? Lackadaisical?

But this part was (sadly) dead on: "You probably have a weakness for novelty yarns and a stash of yarn you've bought on impulse".

Apparently I'm an Artistic Knitter.

But I feel like in reality I'm somewhere in the middle between all three types?

Can it be a spectrum? Labels are hard.

Contented knitter.

Should actually read "lazy, beginner, won't-do-anything-stressful-or-complicated-because-the-TV-is-on knitter."

I'm a logical knitter and that description is dead on. I have ruined my own enjoyment of a project because of the relentless desire for perfection before :( I am, thankfully, getting better about that part as I get older.
