Mittens!

So I bit the bullet (I'm sure pinesandmaples is so proud of me) and made a pair of mittens.

These are the ones from Charmed Knits, the Harry Potter knitting book. I've been told they're a basic mitten pattern, but I still was confused by a lot in it.

That's the best part about mittens! There's no difference! Well, these mittens at least. Striped mittens are going to look the same no matter what side you put them on.

Well, it took a lot of chanting. 'I'm only using two needles at a time. I'm only using two needles at a time' was heard a lot in my house. And at work.

Thank you! I see a lot of mistakes in the first mitten that I fixed in the second mitten, especially with the color change and the picking up stitches hole.

Also, what saved me was the fact that there was only one thing here that I didn't know how to do immediately and that was k1f&b, but fortune smiled upon me and my mother in law knew how to do it and could show me. Since we had to drive down that way to see pinesandmaples, it worked out.

Thank you! I was very nervous about starting up a project that involved knitting a gusset, but it's just as easy as sewing one, really!
