I am in love with Cookie A sock patterns

My mom wanted socks for her birthday. She's a knitter herself but she really doesn't like knitting socks. I had just bought Knit.Sock.Love by Cookie A and thought hey, I think I can actually knit socks that aren't just plain ribbing/stockinette. So I knit her a pair of Monkeys. I totally loved the pattern and now have this goal of knitting every pattern in that book and in Sock Innovation. Right now, I have Rick from Sock Innovations on the needles.

Congratulations! Socks can seem daunting but, as you've found, they're really not so bad.

Cookie A's sock patterns are so nifty. I'm waiting for it to get a little warmer before I do the second sock of Kai-Mei in cotton yarn.

Kai-Mei is the sock I'm going to tackle after Rick. I have the perfect yarn for it (Lobster Sox by Lobster Pots Yarn). I must say her patterns are exceptionally well-written.

Kai-Mei has been on my list forever. Maybe it's time to break it out; I'm almost done with these knee-socks... hrm...

I do love her patterns but I very strongly prefer knitting socks toe-up, and some of her heels & gussets are not really switchable ... I did make 2 pair of Monkeys (and kept neither, sadface) and one Hedera ... I might have to find a copy of KSL and peek through it ...

I hope her other patterns are better documented and more elegant than Mingus. I just finished the pair, and I would have thrown a fit at the poor guidance for heels and toes had I been new to socks. Her chart solution for that pattern was also appalling.

I just knitted my mum her first pair of socks from Knit.Sock.Love. She used to knit but gave it up cos it hurt her wrists too much and gets really cold feet so she loves them. She chose Rhombus which wasn't my favourite pattern but turned out quite well. I made Bex from Sock Innovation for me and I really love those.

Be careful with the patterns from 'Sock Innovation', lots of errata. Make sure to check Ravelry or the publisher's site for more info.
