No matter how badly you knit, I bet it's better than this dude.

Knitting 101 by Dan, and linked to by Shadow Manor blog and The AntiCraft. (Link is to a blog with an embedded YouTube video.)

"It's okay to pull real hard, because it's yarn, and yarn can't feel pain."

ETA: I had thought the video was by someone affiliated with The AntiCraft; I think now that they just linked to him. I've changed the post to reflect this.

I think my only coherent response at the moment is: What??

Sorry, no I meant it as a 'am laughing but almost can't quite believe what I'm seeing' what . (if that makes sense, the brain to page process is not very sparkly today.)

I have visual aids for that blog. My early attempts at knitting were...well, I don't know what they were, but they sure weren't knitting.

I found myself watching his 'cast on' and wondering if, well, that could work... Now I'm going to have to try it and see what happens! Gah!

The one PinesAndMaples linked isn't actually the same as what he does in the video - the wrap cast on linked does work perfectly well (I used it for years because no-one taught me any better until I started looking online!), but it involves a twist, what he does is literally just wrapping it around.

However, that's not to say you couldn't make it work, just that it's different to what's being linked.

Thank you for that, I needed a giggle today! That was awesome. And I learned something! I never would have thought of using a stapler, but what a brilliant idea!
