In which dishcloths are addictive

In particular, I am hooked on this particular pattern. Be forewarned that it does not include the garter stitch border in the pattern, so you should account for that. But if you make it 3 sts on either side, it will still fit within the given stitch count parameters.

I have knit three of the aforementioned dishcloth so far, two in a solid red and one in an ombre. I don't have a photo of the ombre yet, but I think it might be a bit busy so I recommend going with the solid. (Although it is kind of fun, but still, I prefer the solid).

Not blocked or anything, by the way, that's straight off the needles.

I've knit a bunch more dishcloths, small versions of which you can see here. They are for house guest gifts, mothers day, and now I'm making some for my sister's birthday. They are versatile things. Soon I shall make some for the new house. I love how fast you can knit them up, and the gratification of finishing them. I also love using them, they scrub so well!

Oh, I really like those! What yarn do you use for them? I was just thinking a few dishcloths would make great neighbor gifts for Christmas, and I could work on them to give myself a break from My Very First Sweater. :D

Excellent! I have to take a trip up to JoAnn tomorrow (I have a coupon!) for more yarn for this sweater. Apparently I severely underestimated the amount of yarn necessary for a full size sweater. Go figure. I might have to grab some sugar 'n cream while I'm there, to make some of these washrags. :)

These are all really nice! I use to make a lot of dishcloths. It would make a good summer project. *goes to see if there's any cotton left in the stash*

True. Two summers ago, when I had just learned to knit, I was quite addicted to making dishcoths. I still have a drawerful, and I made quite a few for family members. Recently, one of my sisters hinted that she might like to have a few more, so maybe it's time to get back to that. :)

I know I had 2 full balls of multi- or striped cotton, but they're still hiding. I found a cone of white cotton I forgot I had. Maybe some face cloths? And a sack of small balls of cotton left-overs, in various colors. Maybe I should practice stripes or colorwork with those. *thinks of ideas* First, I want to finish some mittens I started last week, though.
