wow. i knit this one up quick! part of my sister's xmas gift was for me to knit her the hat of her choice. she fell in love with escargot when i showed it to her.

the instructions were very clear and easy to follow, with some short rows done in the brim of the hat. even after swatching and concluding i needed a smaller needle, the hat still came out bigger than i wanted it to, but it turned out to fit her perfectly. i'm going to make another hat in the opposite colors with the left-over yarn - and use an even smaller needle - or maybe i'll buy a 3rd color... hmmmmmm....

So immediately after my post about brain fog and knitting, when I had finally decided on some sort of queue, my brain fog cleared. Given the nature of health problems, though, I have no idea how long this will last.

I'm taking advantage of this mental clarity to knit my first sweater (for my niece, who is due in about three weeks!). It's a fairly simple sweater and I've done *most* of the difficult bits - plus it's for 6-12 mos - so I should be able to finish it in time and everything. Still, I am concentrating all my efforts on it for now.

There is also a second sock I've been unable to work on that I really want to finish, not to mention a cabled hat for my grandmother that I really should finish when I can.

However, I don't want to abandon my lovely brain fog project ideas. So I have decided that I am going to have two knitting queues going, along with two packed knitting bags. I usually have a bag with at least two projects in it along with some essentials (scissors and the like). My idea is to have two bags packed and ready to go. One will have easy peasy projects that I can do in a fog or if I'm watching TV or something. The other will have my more complicated projects that I'll work on when my brain will let me.

Hopefully this will also prevent my current problem from happening again, which is a plethora of individual project bags spread across multiple tables and hidden in nooks. They get abandoned, and then eventually they get frogged. This may help with organization, that wonderful and ephemeral state.
