Does anyone here use Ribblr? I made an account but haven't really used it much. How do you feel it compares to Ravelry?

Hi everyone!

I've mainly lurked here so far, but I wanted to draw this post to your attention:
http://justice-turtle.dreamwidth.org/231877.html

The poster, after a life full of medical and family issues, is in dire financial strains and selling several knitting/crochet patterns in an attempt to raise money to cover a student loan bill. (If you like the patterns but can't/don't want to donate, they'll be available for free from Aug 1, so it's still worth keeping an eye on this post.)

There's doll's wings, a baby bonnet (which is really cute and I'd totally be tempted to knit it, but I don't currently know anyone with a kid that young),and mesh backpack.

(I'm not sure if this type of post is allowed, but I couldn't find anything that said it wasn't--moods, please delete if inappropriate.)

Is anyone looking at the Tour de Sock? Registration is a $7.50 donation to a Doctors Without Borders fundraiser, and you get 7 sock patterns out of the deal. The contest is to knit the socks first or best or within the deadline and earn points, but additionally you can do it as a team, and as long as everyone in the team completes one pair of socks out of the seven on time you're (as a team) in for the prize drawing.

I don't know if I'm completely committed to speed knitting as a contest, but it seems like the sponsor discounts (Miss Babs, for one!) might easily make up the registration cost!

Just the same, anyone else interested? I might be convinced to join a Dreamwidth team...

I don't know whether non-Ravelry folk can see this, but perhaps the only people who might be reading this will as a matter of course be Ravelry members anyway: Pimp Your Bike. Crotcheted wheel skirts—very fabulous!

I'm not officially participating in NaKniMo (Ravelry link) but I thought I would use the opportunity to get some projects completed and work on some others that I may or may not be able to complete.  Does anyone want to join me?

To be completed:
1) Scarf for my grandmother's birthday.  Needs tassels.
2) Dishcloth that I found this morning that has been bound off.  Just needs ends woven in. Finished Nov 2
3) Add snaps to baby bib.

To work on:
1) Scarf for barter.  Made with silk sari yarn.  Worked on it yesterday and today.
2) Baby blanket.

I've joined the 52 Projects in 52 Weeks challenge group on Ravelry and we've had to post up our game plan for June. (Challenge starts on June 1.)

Soooo...my plan for June:
  1. Nintendo DS case
  2. Scarf for Ally
  3. spin/ply 4 oz of stashed fiber
  4. dreamerknits’ heart and stars blanket - WIP rescue

The whole thing is probably wishful thinking for me, but oh well. Worth a shot :)
