I don't know whether non-Ravelry folk can see this, but perhaps the only people who might be reading this will as a matter of course be Ravelry members anyway: Pimp Your Bike. Crotcheted wheel skirts—very fabulous!

Love these! I almost want to get a bicycle just so I can put a skirt on it. :)

WOW!

(Also, I have not seen the word "Fahrrad" in 50 years!)

We were in Germany for a few years, so I absorbed a few words, but we've been in the US since '62. Motorrad for some reason stuck and Fahrrad didn't.

It's apparently not outdated!

There are a few patterns like that on Rav! Like here, here and here... I've also seen patterns for seat covers, u-lock cozies and even panniers among whatever else people have come up with.

Of course, pimping my bike is an endless exercise. :) I don't know crochet, so working out a knitted skirt guard is on my vague list of things to do someday.

Eh, I can't think that it'd be all that different from the crochet version, or for that matter other kinds of skirt guards. From what I've seen, most of them attach to the fender stays and/or rear forkends, and then the top end either clips or hooks onto the fender or is laced up over it. The skirt guard itself, after all, is basically just a couple wedges of fabric. It's getting the size and shape to fit just right that puts me off more, since I do detest math!

OMGosh those are TOO CUTE.

Things like this make me wish I could crochet. Alas, I am too fumble-fingered.

This makes me want to learn to crochet and also ride my bike more.
