Firstly: first post to the community, though I've been a member for a while. Hi!

Secondly, I finished knitting a pair of socks!



They're knitted in 8ply Ashford Tekapo, which a friend gave me; I think the colourway is Sweetpea. I'm sort of ridiculously proud of them, mainly because I figured out bits of the pattern myself (though stringherder invented the lace pattern and helped me with maths). The ankle is so short because I wasn't certain that they'd fit and I don't like knitting in rib very much. Now that I've figured out an ankle size that fits my wide size-10s, I'll make another pair with a longer leg.

I've written out the pattern and at some point - when a fancier ankle has been designed and tested - will probably make it available on Ravelry (I'm maudlinrose there). The whole process of making socks that fit me properly has turned out to be easier than I expected. \o/

Gorgeous! Please let us all know when you put the pattern on Ravelry. I've only made plain socks so far, but I'd love to have a pretty pattern on which to stretch my wings.
