I was looking through my Ravelry favourites and realised I have an awful lot of winter wear up there. I would have expected a lot more summer since, well, it IS summer here in Mississippi.

Nope. All winter. What's everyone else's 'To Knit' queue look like?

All I have are socks, mittens, shawls and scarves. That's because I'm pretending this 'summer' thing does not exist, even if I'm already to a point where my hands are so sweaty I can't hold the needles.

So, yeah, winter stuff all~ the time <3

Everything I have in my knitting queue is winter-focussed. I don't like summer weather, and I adapt my wardrobe grudgingly. Knitting is a mini-celebration of the fact that it will get cold again eventually.

I've switched to summer knitting. I started a light lacework shawl on the weekend, and have a silk short sleeved top that I started last summer to finish.

On the needles: socks, a shawl, mittens, and a hat. Just finished: a different shawl.

The mittens and hat are wintery, the socks are any season, one shawl is a warm-weather one and the other a cool-weather one. :)

I have a scaled-down messenger bag I just finished for a netbook case and now I'm being lazy about sewing in the lining, so I've picked up the cardigan I set aside when I was all like "oh boy I have a netbook! It needs a case right now!" But there's only the sleeves left to go on that, so I was looking at my Ravelry queue, and there's nothing in it I want to knit. It's all scarves and blankets and bags on which I'm very meh. Not even seeing anything in the new Knitty or Twist Collective that particularly grab me.

pages and pages of socks that I'll eventually delete rather than cast one and four variants of one hat that I'm actually going to knit.

and more baby clothes than I can knit ebfore the child in question is a teen.

My queue isn't so much a to-do list as a wishlist for more time, money, and energy to spend knitting.

Lace shawls. Currently I'm working on an all-out beaded laceweight Aeolian (~800 yards) that in the winter will cover up the warm but itchy to cuddle with Icelandic lopi shawls I made last year. A shawl for my girlfriend is on my radar, and I have some yarn that calls for a giant circle/square (need to find the right beads...).

Of course, we haven't really gotten summer weather yet so working with wool is no issue here, though maybe by the end of June? Highs for today and tomorrow are under 60 F.

Summer is the only time I can knit with wool here in Arizona. The AC is always too cold! :D In the winter, it's too nice to stay indoors.

I knit very slowly and am easily distracted with other things, so my To Do list is aimed hopefully at Christmas. I have lots of scarf and hat recipes and far, far too much yarn*. Although, I just acquired some really, really gorgeous yarn today in a swap, and find shawl ideas burgeoning in my head in consequence.

* Is that heresy?

I have a shawl I'm currently working on and a pair of socks. The queue? Socks, shawls, gloves, sweaters, tops, scarves ... basically everything. Of course my queue is also over 370. I actually have the yarn for the next 15 things, mostly socks, a pair of gloves, and more shawls. :)

On the needles:
socks for a friend who's going travelling round the world, leaving in the fall.
a cotton mesh string bag, which I'm kind of bored with now, but it's not done yet.

On the top of the queue:
two tiny hats for a co-worker who's going to give birth to twin boys soon
anklet socks for me to wear in summer races, since I love to wear hand-knit socks for workouts but don't really want the extra warmth on my legs now
some kind of cowl with the two colours of laceweight qiviut (suggestions welcome)

I do not have a to-knit list or anything in my queue. I have one lace shawl to finish, if it kills me. But my knitting horizons are wide open.
