I posted a while back asking for advise re: minimizing holes in short row heels on my first pair ever of toe-up socks and just want to thank all of you for all the great info. I am now happily zooming along on my fourth pair of socks and implementing the suggested techniques (or kind of a hybrid, actually) that ended up working out best for me.

Congrats on your sock work! I've only recently jumped into sock knitting, myself, and it's great to hear other people are enjoying it, too.

I'm not sure that I'll ever be a :"real" sock knitter --- too fond of sweaters and vests --- but they do make for a very nice, very portable project. I'm glad I gave it a try.
