So I actually remembered to not only take some photos of the scarves I've been making recently, but also to take them off my camera. I thought I celebrate by posting them here and realised that I haven't actually posted here since several people here were kind enough to answer my puzzled questions about scarf patterns months and months ago. Thus a scarf pictures post!

This was made using the wool I was originally asking about, the Shetland Marl, I really enjoyed making the Irish Hiking Scarf. Though I think the wool might be a bit stiff for it? It's a bit stiff (though as it's only now getting cold enough to wear it, after it's been washed a few times it may soften up) but really warm.

Close up of the cabling.

I also adapted the pattern to make it with chunkier softer wool and so it only has one cable...otherwise it would have been a square scarf...I don't seem to have a picture of the finished scarf (despite the fact that I made two) so here it is on it's needles half done.

I've made two so far, with another on the pins at the moment. I prefer the kind made from the ribbon that you have to make your own holes in rather than the one which comes with it's own, even if the latter is a quicker knit.

Close up of both scarves.
I've got another one on my needles at the moment, but it's lunchtime knitting so is lurking in my drawer at work.
