So there was a fiber festival in $nearby_midsize_town today. I went.

I said to myself when I went in that, since my budget was fairly limited, I would walk through the whole thing before I bought anything.

About ten stalls in, I said to myself, "If I don't buy that right now, it's not going to be here when I come back."

I'll just leave that there.

It's a BFD, and with Ravelry's involvement it's become an even bigger BFD - here.

I think the Rhinebeck festival is what started making people do their own wool festivals in the last seven years or so. I know that stuff like that just blossomed in the UK after ravelry started.

yeah lewisburg was a huge change for me. I've lived in sc, chattanooga, knoxville, moved to a farm in the middle of nowhere and the to buffalo, NY.. I miss chattanooga and atlanta sooo much.. I hate missing the coventions in atlant, but I'm now only about an hour from boston.. so it balances out.. I didn't do much knitting before but now I'm teaching myself, and starting to learn how to spin.. thank gods for ravelry.
