Finally making a dent

I'm finally making a dent in my Christmas knitting. Money is tighter than usual this year and really everyone I exchange presents with has more than enough stuff. So...enter knitting projects. In the past 2 weeks, I've finished:

A pair of socks for my dad (which I'd started about 3 years ago when I was teaching a class on sock knitting and then stopped when I got caught up in other knitting

EZ 100th Anniversary Half Pi Shawl: Hearts (this one still needs to be blocked and is for my cousin)

Butterfly Hat (for my mom)

Shilling Hat (for my dad)

I also am going to knit a pair of slippers for my mom but I haven't found the pattern I want to use yet.

I don't have pics of any of the projects yet but I'm anxious to get that shawl blocked. Of course I have to clean off the dining room table so I can actually put blocking mats on it.

Wow, that is an impressive amount, especially the shawl!

The shawl was worked on for quite a number of months-plus I put it aside for about a month before I worked on the last 10 rows. It's one of those things where the finished product looks that it was really hard to make but the pattern is really easy. The pattern was easily memorized. The worst part was the bind off (I did a 2 row lace bind off where I knit 1, yo across the first row and then bound off the next. That was the part I thought I'd never finish!

I'm anxious to block mine--I can hardly wait to see it blocked out. Cause lace before it's blocked is kinda just a messy blob.

It is a very fun knit. I want to make the camping one in the whole circle because I'm setting myself a goal of making harder shawls in 2013. Although once again, I'm pretty sure it isn't that hard of a knit. Her patterns are very well written.
