I made Owls!




It's for my niece, and fits her very nicely, with just a little room to grow. The yarn probably isn't quite as rich a purple as it shows here, it's a little chalkier, but the eyes are slightly different, pairs in mauve, blue and pink. It was really easy and quick, although if I do it again I want to find a better way of dealing with the underarm join.

Another purple Owls! A local friend just recently finished this for herself--needing to harmonize with the ones she'd already made for daughter-in-law and granddaughter.

I haven't done this one myself yet. What didn't you like about the underarm join?

There do seem to be a lot of purple ones! I put the underarm stitches onto stitch holders (or loops of thread) but they seemed to get very straggly and stretched while I worked on the rest. And I'm not at all good at Kitchener stitch. It just feels as though there should be a neater and easier way of doing them. Somewhere, someone with a YouTube account may be working on this!
