Pegboard would probably be the absolute best bet, but I have no idea how to use Pegboard when you can't "damage" the walls.

What do you use? Any ideas or opinions?

I threw myself on my partner's mercy and he went "okay. Provided..." And muttered to himself, and now has figured out how to put pegboard in my room using one screw.

Sometimes, having a woodworker for a partner is useful.
