that feel when something has been a WIP for long enough that your skill level has completely changed, and you've gotten so little done that it's easier to frog and start over :/
I just finished what was supposed to be a scarf and instead is now a pot holder because it took a year to finsh. The first half is really good and the second half shows just how much I forgot about knitting lol.
Thank you everyone for the sympathy! It was a sweater for my sister - I'd only finished half a sleeve, and finally admitted I wasn't working on it because 1) the color work at the cuff was terrible, and 2) I apparently just hate bottom-up sweater knitting. So I'm working on a swatch to rework it as top down, and hopefully that's a lot faster.
Yup. And then you realize that the part you redid came out better because you've gained so many skills, and you're not sure if you want to be proud of your progress or embarrassed because the first try was so bad.
hahahaha today in swatching to restart the sweater, I realized that part of what felt wrong is that this yarn is really just not going to work for what I envisioned. So, sweater is permanently delayed until we can order new yarn :/
I have tons of other projects to be working on, but this is still really disheartening.
