Knitting blogs! Who has 'em, who reads 'em, what are your favorites? I'll pop mine in comments later, but I'm really interested in the ones you read, and especially the ones you write. Share with me!
I have a blog at decemberproject.net but I'm in the midst of finishing up my Masters (2 1/2 WEEKS ZOMG) so my posting frequency isn't too high right now XD
I read Ysolda of course, and a few others -- mostly people who I met through NaBloPoMo last November. I really need to boost my reading list!
My friend Aya and I share a journal that we randomly update here: Purlene. I post in green, she posts in black. It's about 80% knitting, 20% everything else (although my posts are mostly knitting).
As for what I read, I like Knitters Anonymous, TechKnitting (although it's more of a reference than a daily read), and I used to read Adam Knits, but he hasn't updated in a few months. Busy guy!
You and your handy feedness rock. (Who was thrilled at how many options there are to syndicate feeds about knitting in Most Popular, options to join this comm right from the start, etc? it's nuts! & awesome. Dreamwidth: Home of Knitters, apparently.)
At random, since I didn't know any of those blogs, I clicked on The Panopticon, and nearly had an aneurysm at the latest post. A man! Knitting in public! Won't anybody think of the children! *snorfle* Aaaaaand... bookmarked!
The Panopticon is at the top of my list - I have a little crush on Frankin . . . But I also read tons of other knitting blogs - this is just a small sample:
Abby's Yarns - mostly spinning - but she is a genius! Brooklyntweed - OMG the photos and patterns Carole Knits Grumperina goes to local yarn shops and Home Depot KnitSpot - LACE LACE LACE Knitters Anonymous - Cookie A's knitting Knitting in the Shadows - personal friend and fiendish knitter Lime and Violet's Daily Chum Pulsh - great philosophy of knitting patterns A few Ravelry feeds Seasons of Lace - Lace Knit Along Sock Pr0n - duh! Wendy Knits Zeeneedle Yarn Harlot Fiberjoy January One Knit and tonic knitGrrl Manning Knits - Love their sock patterns Handspun Central - Twist Blog
I only got an invite code today, but I'm planning on using this account for fandom. And yeah - knitting is my biggest fandom right now, if I may say so! =} No idea how lasting or frequent posting about it will be though.
My own is Ria Knits, though it hasn't been updated recently to reflect what I'm currently working on. My camera's missing, I have 2 FOs that need to be blocked before I show pictures, and I'm almost halfway done a Clapotis too, none of which are seen on that blog. Must find my camera so I can actually make a proper update! (I myself find that unless I post a picture of my FO, or some decent progress on whatever I'm currently working on, there isn't often enough text-based content to hold the average reader's interest, so I try to throw in pictures in the entries rather than just type up descriptions. Visual are fun! :3)
Mine is Theory of String. I prefer stuff more along the lines of Yarn Harlot, not focused completely on knitting, but incorporating every day stuff as well. Always looking for more, I'll be perusing the others linked here as well.
