[personal profile] zats_clear posting in [community profile] knitting
I had an email last week from someone looking for sock patterns for small feet. says WiseHilda of Ravelry and Knitty fame. Her blog entry for today highlights something I had not put together in my online pattern seeking - Knitty does, indeed, have the vast majority of their socks listed out in multiple sizes! I'm thrilled!

(and actually, I just told her that I had been looking for patterns and was directed there by my fellow knitwits and how grateful I was that her patterns were all size inclusive)

Ohh yay. I have been thinking of doing socks, but I haven't been sure where to start because my feet tend towards the smaller side of average. So glad to hear there's at least one place where the patterns consistently take that into account.

I guess I don't quite understand the trouble with sizing socks. Maybe that's because I learned to make socks by experimenting with the number of stitches, yarn, and needles until I had something that fit my foot and I knew how that worked. It's not that hard to stop short, take out stitches, or make socks fit specific feet unless they are something wicked like Skew or something from Cat Bordhi. Even Cookie A's patterns can be adjusted pretty easily by pulling stitches from the sole, working the foot/leg to desired length, and dropping needles to change gauge.

It's not like we're talking bust darts here.
