That is a beautiful article. I initially read the title as 'Kandahar's Combat Kittens', which would also have been cool.

Thanks for the link. That was really wonderful. And it reminded me that my mother learned to knit from her father, who learned it as a necessary skill in the Italian Army during World War I.
