Ahhhh so I have a problem -- or rather, I have eleven of them!

I currently have eleven unfinished projects on my needles. I've been trying to cut down, but every time I finish one of my current projects, or even finish half of one (one sock/mitten etc), I cast on a new project to replace the old one.

So I was hoping I could find like-minded folks to chat about WIPs. Anyone want to join me in sharing your WIPs to cheer each other on? That glove lacking a second half, that beret that just won't get past the ribbing, that scarf that just won't stop, that lacework that you've squirreled away in a bag so you're not tempted to throw it across the room, that thing you need to tink back a couple hundred stitches before you can move forward again (and if that sounds familiar, all the best of luck to you!) Or even that one project that's just flying off your needles so we can all remember that it can be done? And if that's you, I'm envious, but do share *G*

Maybe we'll even finish one of them eventually! (And maybe then I can stop fervently hoping that mismatched gloves, or gloves matched with mittens, or one-sock-only would come into style >_>)

Shall I go in order of how old the project is or how much room it takes up?

  • Black and red hooundstooth-ish crocheted sweater (body only) that was originally for my ex (just uncovered it when I was moving some stuff). Don't have a clue where the pattern is. Nor the rest of the yarn.
  • Cardigan for me, in Lion Brand Homespun -- second attempt on the pattern, first was a mile too big and only has three buttons and my gauge changed noticeably between side A and side B but I wear it allll the time because it's warm. This second attempt I am doing seamless, and I am about 7/8 done with the first skein, and ... I forgot I was supposed to be making buttonholes. Also, there are places where I forgot which side I was on and didn't knit in pattern (mistake rib ftw!) which no one will ever notice but me .... At least the sleeves are done!
  • A really gorgeous cardi in red Llama-Silk that I bought the yarn for at Webs the day after Christmas, and have finished except for ... wait for it! ... the ends and the buttons.
  • A lap robe / shawl out of Lion Brand Chenille I picked up cheap - the color is really pretty, but the yarn feels like it's fighting me. That one lives in the ottoman in front of the TV.
  • A hat in the shape of a giant squid for Osirus - I was free-handing the design, based on his measurements, and it's just too big around. I will probably frog and re-knit; he's been so patient.
  • A felted bag that just needs handles and lining ....
  • Various pairs of socks (I only knit them two-at-a-time now) that aren't working for me in some way. One is a lovely hand-dyed I won on Ravelry, but the pattern is killing me and I hate it ... but I'm almost to the heel! How can I frog them now?
  • A kippah I started for a friend, with leftovers from socks I had made her, which is curling in a distressing fashion despite being composed of garter stitch, ffs, which I think I ripped the needles out of last week, so that's ok.
