Holiday knitting, anyone?
Nov. 9th, 2011 07:14 pmMy holiday knitting has tipped into "I can probably finish this without any all-night knitting parties" land, and my wife passed her halfway point a few days ago. Yay!
I'm making seven Fish Hats from various colors of Cascade 220 Superwash for my in-laws. Here's my countdown bar, so you can count to fish with me:

rooibos, on the other hand, is making five personalized colorwork Christmas stockings with the same Cascade 220 Superwash. You can peep at her first one in an unblocked state over here on Flickr. Since that picture, she's finished a red one and is halfway through a blue one.
What are you knitting for the holidays this year? Have you started? Will you finish in time?

Date: 2011-11-10 01:52 am (UTC)I usually make up a big batch of dishcloths for my giant family, but I'm wondering if I'll have time, even though they're pretty quick. (Seriously. GIANT family.)
And since older son got a handknit hat last year, I'm thinking of doing one for younger son this year--maybe a Scott Pilgim hat.

Date: 2011-11-10 01:18 pm (UTC)And I have lace stockings for a friend (she spun some of the yarn) that have been in process for 2 years, and while progress is finally happening -- I have 1/2 of one done, almost past all the tricky sections --there is no way I'll get them done this year. Maybe for antichristmas in summer.

Date: 2011-11-10 03:13 pm (UTC)I don't knit for the hubby's family (philosophical differences about the relative value of homemade v storebought goods) and I got a little enthusiastic last year with knitting for those of our clan who do value handmade gifts, so I suspect my knitting for the holiday is pretty much done with mom. I spent most of this year knitting for the new baby in the group.

Date: 2011-11-21 11:11 am (UTC)I had to shift my whole gift-knitting focus when I went back to college & ran out of time; now, instead of knitting for a lot of people, I pick 3 or 4 and knit something awesome. I already finished 2 shawls, for 2 awesome friends, and I have a MASSIVE scarf in progress for my mom, and that will probably be it.
