Looks great, and I too thought of a "blue cobra" when I saw the photo (but I didn't have time to respond immediately). I will make a note of that kind of yarn, although I have two or three other skeins of sock yarn that need to be used before I buy any more.
i have a small stash of hand dyed or self striping yarn, and i've been feeling an itch to work a more complicated stitch pattern that would need a solid yarn to show it off
