Instant gratification projects!
Jul. 29th, 2009 01:45 amI suppose this says something about me as a knitter, but I need an instant gratification project every now and again. The three major projects I always keep on my front burners are socks, lace, and Something Big. (Right now, it's a sweater.)
Finishitis is an angry little itch, and I needed to scratch it so what else did I do besides cast on for something new?
My instant gratification project these days is Wavy from an old Knitty, in some really delicious Merino Twine from Creatively Dyed Yarns.
I cannot believe I am knitting a freaking scarf for instant gratification.
Tell me of your personal instant gratification projects!

Date: 2009-07-31 08:19 am (UTC)The first time I knit this pattern, I wanted to stab my eyes out. It took the better part of two months. Then I went off, made tons of socks, several lace shawls, and a few really stupidly big things. Those projects take a long ass time. This thing is quick compared to the dental floss I normally knit with.
Sitting down and knocking out a 44 row repeat a day is pretty fast, for a scarf! And this particular scarf is only supposed to have 10 repeats so that's 10 days then boom! Substantial FO! Sadly, I'm adding to the length (want to run out of yarn) so I'll have closer to 15 repeats, but hey, it's still faster than a sweater!

Date: 2009-08-23 03:48 am (UTC)I'm still rather new to knitting but this seemed fun, so I wanted to give it a shot. I'm thinking this is due to me being incredibly tired right now, but I'm not 100% sure I understand what it means by "k the k sts and p the p sts". The first row is k3, p3 to end, then the second we're supposed to do that. Does that mean I instead p3, k3 to the end?
I hope my question makes sense, for some reason it's confusing me *shrug*
