rileybear67: (creative)
[personal profile] rileybear67 posting in [community profile] knitting
A friend of mine now has twin girls at home and I have made two sleep sacks. I am just finishing the second, but I did remember to take a picture of the first.

The colors were selected by the parents and I wanted to make something nice.
Someone told me that the one looks like an eggplant and now I am a little self-conscience about it.

Anyway, I would post a picture, but there doesn't seem to be an option to select from computer and I don't have it posted anywhere...

I'll look into putting some stuff up on Flickr for this...

EDIT: Now that I have created a group on Flickr...

Hee! Sleep sacks are awesome for babies, though. Did you use a pattern or did you make one up?

So it looks like an eggplant. Knitting baby items that resemble food is a time-honored tradition that includes many a pumpkin hat, strawberry sweater, and dinner roll bootie. I'm sure the parents will think it's just adorable for their little darling.

That's adorable! Now I want to make a sleep sack that looks like an eggplant. (I had a friend in college who would wear a certain color combination often when we were going to work together, because I always told her she looked like a watermelon. She wasn't even [obviously] a baby!)

That is lovely. I would not have thought 'eggplant' until someone said it, but it having been said I can see it...and that? Just makes it CUTER.

Totally late! But! I have to agree, even if the baby looks like an eggplant that's just even cuter than not. Because yes, we dress our babies in food things. My boys had blueberry hats. :D

And I think it's darling, intentional food relation or not :D
