Do any of you read knitting related blogs? If so, can you point me to them? I'd love to add some to my Google Reader.

The Blue Blog - short posts, mostly about what she's knitting for her kids, but really nice stuff. She also does book reviews, quilts, and is generally just interesting.

Too Much Wool - again, nice pictures, she knits things I'd actually want to make myself, and a very relaxed writing style.

Mine, haha. I share it with my friend aya; I post in green, she posts in black. We're sporadic, but we get our knitting mojo on in the cooler months. We're not so much for the gorgeous pictures, but we do try.

Knitters Anonymous, online home of Cookie A. of sock fame, and her friends. Gorgeous knitting, good pictures, very nice.

And adding my votes for the Yarn Harlot (there's a reason why she's so famous) and Brooklyn Tweed. I had to stop reading Wendyknits, but many people love her, so definitely try her out.

Finally, TECHknitting has taught me SO MUCH. She's been on a bit of a break, recovering from a broken ankle, but her archives are worth a read.

pinesandmaples: Text only; reads "Not everything will be okay, but some things will." (knitting: isn't yarn fantastic?)

I second The Blue Blog. I really like Alison's style.

If you don't mind me asking, what made you stop reading Wendyknits?

It's total personality incompatibility, to be honest. I think she's incredibly smug. It's nothing against her *design ability or her knitting, just lots of little things that rankle. Like the daily pictures of her cat which lead to her releasing a calendar of her cat, and people buying it (wtf, why would I want a calendar of someone else's pet). Or the way that her patterns seemed to immediately sell out at Loopy Ewe - she knows they're going to, she knows she's a popular designer, why limit the supply of a .pdf pattern? But there was a period where it was "pattern released on Monday!" "Oh my, it's tuesday and my pattern is already sold out. how humbling." mm-hm. (This isn't a personal gripe, in that I didn't get a pattern - I don't knit toe-up socks, so I'm not in her customer base.)

Personality conflict, pure and simple. I just don't like her, and things that would be charming in someone I do like are irritating when she does them. ::hands::

* although the mitred square sweater she knit from sock yarn is about the ugliest thing I've ever seen.
