WIPs == too damn many
Oct. 28th, 2009 11:11 pmOK, I have too many works in progress.

Pinwheel sweater in natural brown sheeptastic wool from Argentina -- it's a little further long than this now, but not much.
---

Textured shawl recipe. I added yarnover increases because I didn't like the recommended M1R/M1L, and then decided to add some yarnovery stripes to the mix so the increases wouldn't look so random.
---

Random scarfness, just kinda made this one up, but I'm really liking it. It's my current travel/commute knitting.
---

EZ mitred mittens.
---

Bottom-up birch shawl. Not really enjoying knitting this lace so much, and considering just ditching it. Especially because the colour is kind of similar to the textured shawl (above) and I don't really need two similar triangular shawls. But I'm wondering what else I would do with the yarn. Probably something rectangular and stole-like. Maybe something crocheted just to mix it up a bit?
---

Lizard Ridge blanket. I have 10 out of 35 squares knitted. If I buckled down I'd have it finished in a month, but of course I won't.
---

Froot Loop socks. These were my travel knitting (note wooden needles) but to be honest they require a bit too much attention for that. I really need to just plough through them and then cast on a pair of brainless socks using my usual recipe, which would be much better suited to knitting while travelling.
---

Ringwood pattern socks. These are from a vintage pattern and have calf shaping and I hate them because I have to count rows in a section of sock which, quite frankly, I don't want to count rows in. Thinking of ripping back and restarting without the shaping. I am lazy when it comes to socks.
That's too many, right? And I didn't even count the two I don't have pics of. *sigh*
PS: all patterns etc are linked from my Rav project page

Date: 2009-10-30 10:21 pm (UTC)Print o' the wave: yeah, that's a possibility... though I'm actually starting to learn that I don't much like knitting that's complex enough to need a chart. It don't find it relaxing. So my idea of a good time is a simple repeat that I can keep in my head. Stuff like feather and fan really calls to me, but anything much more complicated just gives me a big dose of the "meh".
The textured triangular shawl details are at http://www.ravelry.com/projects/Orlane/textured-shawl-recipe
In my case I CO 7, row 1 is k2 yo k1 yo k1 yo k1 yo k2, row 2 is k2, purl to last 2, k2. The rest should be fairly straightforward from there, but let me know if you need more details. I am mixing up sections of plain, textured as in that pattern, and yo k2tog in varying widths, to save myself from having to count rows.
(TBH, in retrospect I probably should have CO 9 and done k2 yo k2 yo k1 yo k2 yo k2, because I'm off by one on the textured and YO rows and I have to fudge in a plain stitch at the end of each section, but it's not really visible and it doesn't bother me, so *shrug*.)
