Knitty - First Fall is live! Whoo! But the mercury is still rising in most of North America. It's hard to fall in love with wool when I'm melting, but I still like this issue.

Did you find any new treasures?

I like how First Fall doesn't have cold-weather garments, mostly little decorative scarves and socks etc. I liked the Cathedral Grove socks and since I had some yarn from a dyeing workshop that looked a lot like the designer's example, I made them. It's a well-written pattern that's easier than it looks.

Thanks for these! Though you should know that your link to the Kitchener stitch appears to be broken.

That Longitudinal sock pattern fills me with joy! *wants*

(And yet again, the random icon button *wins*)

I've been looking at Norma and trying to remind myself that I DO NOT need to start another blanket. It is so pretty, but I already have three I'm working on!

Norma grabbed me too, I think it's the color that did it and it's not even a color that goes with anything I own.

Despite the fact that I seem to run warmer than everyone around me, even when it's stifling hot out, I'm just fine and hunky dory with wool. No, I don't want a lapful, but there's still plenty of other options. ;)

I queued two of the Knitty shawls. Not that I needed more shawls in my queue... though neither of them demanded to be knit RIGHT NOW.

I like Estuary, the way the lace pattern and the edging amplify each other. Nothing else really appeals--I'm not a sock knitter so many of the patterns just don't do anything for me.

I queued Estuary, and Longitudinal fascinates me. I kind of like Middlemarch, but I think I'd like it more as a pullover because, to my eye, the buttons ruin the flow of the lace band, and since the lace is kind of the main point of the garment...

Everything else was kinda meh. Felt like I'd seen it all before.
