Crowdsourcing for Xmas gift projects

I am stumped for ideas about what to knit for Xmas gifts this year, and since browsing Ravelry has not helped so far I'm asking for suggestions! Ideally I'm looking for projects that are smallish, knit on 4mm needles or larger, and relatively quick (max 4-6 hours, though I knit quite fast).

In the past I've made a lot of the Burberry inspired cowl , Irish hiking wristwarmers, the Calorimetry headband, and dozens of ribbed hats. I've never got into socks & suspect they would be tricky for gifts, but perhaps the right pattern would change my mind.

Any suggestions? Favorite projects that fit the bill?

I like knitting socks, but unless you are far more motivated than I am, I wouldn't hail them as a wonderful Christmas present choice. If only because Second Sock Syndrome is A Thing.

Kindle/iPad/iPod covers?

I've done some ipod & iphone cosies in the past, but everyone seems to have fancy cases now. I think I might try some mittens...
