I'm looking for yarn recommendations. I want to make a modified version of the Prairie Treasures sweater from the old Nancy Vales book, modified to use either Aran (4 sts/inch) or Bulky (3.5 sts/inches) yarn. I am looking for recommendations for plied wool or primarily wool yarns in these weights which would have a wide-enough color range to manage the main color plus eight pattern colors required, and drapes well. As the sweater is large, and I am as well, inexpensive is also a requirement. I'm on the East Coast of the US, so something available by order in most good yarn shops there, or which is available through an internet supplier who ships to the US is called for.
I made the vest version of this sweater years ago for my sister, and it's the kind of sweater you cuddle into on a snowy winter day at home.
