I'm making a pinwheel sweater and I'd like to edge it with some kind of lace edging, the kind which runs perpendicular to the circular part and works as a wide kind of bind-off.

The sweater's in aran weight brown wool and I don't like things that are too flowery, so I'm thinking something fairly earthy and simple, and anywhere from about 4-8 stitches wide.

Anyone got a suggestion for an edging to use, or can you recommend a good resource for finding one? I'd be happy to buy a good book of lace edging patterns if I can find one, so it doesn't have to be free.

The KnitWiki has some interesting vintage edgings. There's also Epstein's Knitting on the Edge, but I don't really like her style that much. Worth looking at, though.
