I got my first pair of Addi Turbos two days ago to replace a pair of Clovers that were a little too short.

I really want to make all kinds of all caps comments with lots of exclamation points going on about why did no one tell me about these wonderful things, but honestly, everyone actually has, I just wasn't listening all that well.  Ok, actually I had fixated on Clovers as my needle brand because they were such an improvement over the aluminum ones generally available at craft stores.

Don't get me wrong, I still love my Clovers, it's just that once you get down to about US 2, they're not strong enough for the length of the needle and I've broken a few.

I'm so excited about the new needles that I have the urge to tell everyone I know 'I bought my first Addis!', but all the non-knitters look at me like I'm nuts.

Oh, Addis. So lovely. I once told someone in a yarn store that I was oggling the needles, and they looked at me like I was nuts. But it makes such a difference!

Also nice (and slightly less expensive than Addis) are Knitter's Pride needles, available at certain LYS. They're wood (so warmer), and super smooth and they have a really nice tip that doesn't split stitches. The cables are super sturdy as far as I have experienced.

Honestly, though, it's all a matter of your own preference. ^_^

They're really amazing! And I love Clovers, but Addis are a lot smoother if you have rough yarn.

I will keysmash with you! ;) I ADORE my addies. I got the interchangeable set because I do so much knitting and have half a dozen projects on needles (at least) at any given moment. I LUFF THEM. SO MUCH.

Yeah, I'm the freak here. I don't like Addis. When I was sorting stuff to go in the estate sale, the addis went in.

I prefer Chiaogoo Red Lace. Better cable than Addi (no memory!). Awesome tips. Great feel. And less expensive - sort of a middle ground between clover or hiya hiya and addi.

But that's why there are so many different kinds of everything in the fiber world. We all have different tastes.

Heh. I am also a big ChiaoGoo fan. I bought a bunch of sizes in the 60-inch length after I tried the first pair, because I know I was done with my KnitPicks Harmony set ...

Yay! I'm not alone!

The store I got most of mine from back in Kansas City only carried up to 47", so that's mostly what I have. Future purchases will be 60". Bonus! I found a vendor on ebay who sells ChiaoGoo at a good price and will ship to Mongolia!!

Love, love Addis. I've enjoyed my lace Addis so much over the years that when I wanted an interchangeable set it had to be Addis. They're pricy but so worth it.

My lone set of Addi circulars is the prize of my needle collection. I'm saving up to buy one of their interchangeable sets. I've been coveting them for months, but pricey, pricey.

I did just discover the Knitter's Pride needles mentioned above, though, and am seriously considering replacing my hand-me-down aluminum straights with them when I get a bit of cash here and there. Ahh, it'd be great if in the next decade or so I wound up with all wooden needles for my straights and Addis for my circulars. That would make me happy.
